Lahille, 1887
The suborder Phlebobranchia (Order Enterogona) is represented in the North Sea by the families Corellidae and Ascidiidae. This suborder is characterised by the unpaired gonads, which are located on the same side of the body as the gut. The body is not divided in a thorax, abodomen and post-abdomen, the gut loop is located alongside the branchial sac which occupies the whole length of the body, bears internal longitudinal bars and lacks folds.
